LiveLighter Pinjarra Festival 2018

The largest community festival in Murray is coming back on the 2nd of June, 2018, as you’ll witness the serene Edenvale Homestead turning into a hub of activity with bustling market stalls, entertaining line-up and carnival rides. Key highlights include food trucks, heritage tours, woodturning demonstrations, vintage car displays and live music by Hype, Two Tone Music and Circus. For kids there will be amusement rides, pony rides, free art and craft, free laser tag, free dance workshops, petting zoo and Ecofairies performance.

Celebrate WA Festival at Fishing Boat Harbour

Dazzling fireworks will be lighting up the sky over the Fishing Boat harbour on the long weekend, starting 3rd of June. This 2-day inclusive celebration will have an opening night followed by a range of cultural dance and music events from various ethnic groups, including Latin, Greek and Italian styles. The harbour will also play host to a range of activities including roving buskers, a suitcase market, bouncy castles and face painting.

City Wine

Winter is an ideal season to try some of the best wines in Western Australia, and City Wine will be rejoicing the 5th year of displaying the leading boutique wineries in the heart of Perth, presenting perfect opportunity for wine tasting at this time of the year. The 2-day extravaganza will be held on 8th and 9th of June at the Urban Orchard. There will be dozen of local wineries, spirits, cider and craft beer, along with tapas style food from 25 stalls. There’ll also be a Sparking Bar serving Sparkling Chardonnay Pinot Noir, Pet Nat and Sparkling Shiraz. The crown will also be entertained with live entertainment, and the food stalls will include Two Queens Woodfired Street Food, Locale Kitchen, That Food Truck, Gyoza Joint and Caviar Catering.

Big Drawing Workshop

Due to be held on the 10th of June, you do not need any artistic experience to attend this event. You get a wonderful chance to challenge your skills in a relaxed ambiance. The adult classes generally include a nude model, and all the materials are provided there itself. As a participant, you will be given a piece of charcoal and will be taught skills and techniques that will allow you to draw the realistic figure of human.

Wizards Fantastic Feast – Harry Potter Feast

The wizard world of Harry Potter will come to life this season with an immersive and attractive theatre event, starting 15th of June. You get a chance to explore the miraculous Oxleigh Hall Wizard School for a once in a life extravaganza to rejoice all things magical, fantastical and wizarding. Wise wizards as well as novice are welcome to participate in this indulging experience. You will be allocated a house to learn to make a memorable magical elixir or participate in dangerous acts of sorcery. Score highly on your wizarding exams or you may end up with some homework.

Step Up for MSWA

Want to climb up the stairs of one of the tallest buildings in the country? This Sunday, on the 17th of June, the Shadforth Financial Group is hosting a fundraising event at the Central Park. Last year, $248,000 was raised to help people with neurological conditions, and the numbers are expected to rise this year. It’s a unique event where you will feel the excitement and reward of climbing over 1000 steps to the top, knowing that you are making a difference in someone’s life.

MAMMA MIA! the Musical at Crown Theatre

This feel-good musical rejoicing family, love and friendship is a must-attend event, featuring some of the sensational hit songs of ABBA. Sophie is the Bride-to-be, who is keen to have her father walk her down the pathway. There’s a twist in the tale, with the question of finding her real father, as 3 men are there from her mother’s past. This romantic comedy by Louis Withers and Michael Coppel is an uplifting show, with a heart-felt and fun filled entertainment that would definitely put a smile on your face. ABBA has been widely known to bring joy to audiences with their timeless tracks.

The Flour Factory

There’s something unique about this venue that amazes one and all, adding to the vibrant ambiance of the space. You can enjoy the warmth, sitting down near the kitchen, and enjoy one of the artisan dishes, while also enjoying a glass of wine. So much effort has been placed at this lively spot that it is difficult to leave the venue without being impressed by each part of it. It also has some history behind it, as it is known to be a century old flourmill. With an artistic flair, the food and drinks are finely detailed.

Bambert’s Book of Missing Stories

The show will be held at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre on the 26th of June, as you witness the adventures of Bambert. The story has been adapted for stage performance by Luke Kerridge and Dan Giovannoni. Bambert lives all alone in a tranquil place, with books of all types surrounding him. He never goes outside, and his only friends are the fictitious characters he writes about. Downstairs is Mr Bloom’s grocery store, who sends up his messages, letters and breakfasts in a little elevator. One day, Bambert decides to set his stories free to the outside world on little balloon. He then keeps waiting until the stories return, with postmarks from all across the globe.

Wild Goose Chase Running Festival

Have a fun day out at the Avalon Valley, with a Wild Goose Chase festival, starting 29th of June. There will be multi-day races including Duck’s Nuts at 177 kms and Loose Goose 85 km. The event will have an amazing selection of trail races, in a perfect Australian bushland setting. Wild Goose 100 Ultra is the flagship race, including over 3900 metres of elevation, with strenuous climbs, goat trails and downhills.
