Blackheath gardenBlackheath has an annual Rhododendron Festival which includes chainsaw competitions. The Blackheath Rhododendron Gardens has beautiful flowers which will take your breath away. Legend has it that Charles Darwin visited the Scotch Thistle Inn, one of the first buildings in this town that can now be found south of the Gardner’s Inn Hotel.

Yellow Rock is a smallish town near Winmalee. There’s plenty on offer for tourists and locals such as wonderful views along the Nepean River and the Cumberland Plain. Emu Plains Emu Plains is another interesting place to see. It’s part of the city of Penrith and the terminus for suburban trains.
This busy town has tennis courts, a swimming pool and excellent shopping facilities. For lovers of culture there are museums and art galleries.
Relax by the river and watch the scenery change or take a bush walk on the mountain tracks.

Glenbrook is another quaint town that has a temperate climate, fabulous views and a friendly community. It was once a stopping point for steam trains and has had many name changes. The visitor information centre provides lots of information about the Blue Mountains region. Outside the centre, sandstone steps represent each town in the Blue Mountains.
