About The City Of Brimbank
For over 40,000 years prior to European settlement, the Wurundjeri people were the initial settlers of the land in the Port Philip Bay region, encompassing the present City of Brimbank. This area was well positioned in the region occupied by Marin-Balluk and Kurung-Jan-Balluk clans of the Wurundjeri people, forming the part of major Kulin Nation. Other notable groups in the area included Marpeang-Bulluk and Yalukit-William clans.
At the time when amalgamations of local councils were done by the Kennett Liberal government, Brimbank was founded in 1994, December 15th, by merging the former cities of Sunshine and Keilor. Overnewton Castle
The Overnewton Castle is an English-style architecture spanning across an area of 4 acres, with a fully restored grand dining space overlooking the sprawling gardens, with an ideal setting for a garden ceremony. The river has spaced out a valley some 50 metres beneath the Keilor Plain, with gentle terraces on the southern side and a steep bank on the northern side, creating a massive amphitheatre.

Following the Kororoit Creek in the inner western outskirts of the city, the trail is a shared path for pedestrians and cyclists. The upper section of the trail starts in the Caroline Springs, continuing through to Albanvale. Once you reach the Deer Park, the navigation is straightforward with sealed concrete path on either side of the creek. The trail runs uninterruptedly from Moore Park and onto Brooklyn, passing close to both Sunshine and Albion stations.
Move on to the Hobsons Bay Coastal Trail going through the Altona Coastal Park at the site of Williamstown Racecourse. At the south and north end of the park, the trail splits off the lead to a single path, heading westerly towards Millers Road.
